Here are just a few I am passionate about:

-The Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA.org)
provides financial/spiritual support, medical aid, food/clothing/shelter, disaster relief and funds in over 100 countries worldwhile (with the belief that Christians first and most important duty is to love the less fortunate/down-trodden and to help them in any way we can)

- The American Red Cross
A humanitarian organization who is intimately involved in disaster relief, prevention and ways to cope with disasters ( The ARC is usually the first charitable organization called upon in the time of a disaster/famine/pestilence)

- City Harvest
A wonderful organization which collects the excess food from restaurants and local food establishments to donate it to emergency food programs
References :
http://www.adra.org
